HOW SHOULD YOU TRAIN THE TEAM REGULARLY?




  1. Be Inclusive (Provide various training methods)

Training your team regularly is a must, no matter how big or small your team is. To create a lasting and effective training session with your team, you first need to create or cultivate an environment where everyone is included and an open and safe place for them to share, grow and be vulnerable. Being inclusive is not just about including everyone to a space that already existed , but is also about making appropriate changes to the space you have to accommodate the different needs of your team so they can feel like they are indeed part of the team. One of the best ways to be inclusive is by providing various training methods to your team. We all know that everyone learns differently, and what works for other people might not always work for everyone. For this reason, it's important to offer some alternative options where people can choose from. This will potentially attract your team to actively participate in regular training.


2. Communicating with your team

To hold a regular team meeting, it is important that you understand the needs and wants of your team. You can do this by communicating with them. As a leader, you will have a good idea of what your team needs (and it varies and subject to change). But it is also important to know what your team wants and meet them in the middle. To keep your team engaged with training and for training to be sustainable you have to know how to bridge the needs and wants of the people who will be doing the training.


3. Having consistency

Having consistency with training is crucial. It is important to keep in mind that your team will have other responsibilities in their life. Having a consistent schedule for team meetings will help them plan out their schedule. This is much better than just having spontaneous and unscheduled training. If you have consistency with the training that you provide your team, they will think that you are committed to this and they will see the significance of it. For that reason, they will be more likely to attend the training regularly.
