Isn't motivation a difficult thing to come by? Some days you can feel it, but others, you can't seem to grasp even a sliver of it, no matter how hard you try. You sit at the computer screen, intending to type, create, and develop, but instead, you find yourself going through the motions, scarcely caring about the work you're putting out. You're entirely uninspired, and you're at a loss for what to do about it.

Here are 6 easy ways to get motivated when you are really not in the mood:

1. Don't think about it as a difficult task

Don't think about how tough, annoying, or impossible something could be once you've decided to do it; instead, think about how nice it must feel or how pleased you might be to have done that. Make the difficult appear simple.

If the project you're working on isn't seen as a chore but rather as a piece of the puzzle that will help you advance in your career, the energy necessary to complete it may be simpler.

2. Set small, manageable goals

Completing a large project might be intimidating when you don't know where to start. How can you expect to complete it if you have no idea where to begin? So, instead of focusing on a big, terrifying goal, focus on one thing at a time, and break the enormous goal down into smaller parts.

3. Read every day

Although it may seem counter-productive to set aside reading time when what you truly need is an inspiration to work hard, there are instances when doing something seemingly irrelevant is important to complete the task. In addition, developing a regular reading habit is likely to have a long-term influence on your cognitive processes, eventually encouraging you in all aspects of your life.

4. Don't worry about the things that don't matter

If you're working on inherently significant things or are part of a broader goal, you'll be more consistently motivated.

Check your to-do list carefully and cut out everything that is both demotivating and unnecessary for you to complete. It's not always advisable to finish anything you started if you can't recall why you created it in the first place later on.

5. Establish a quiet time

It's critical to know when enough is enough. Set a reasonable time for yourself to stop working and stick to it most days of the week. Take Sundays off or stop answering emails after 8 p.m. Allowing yourself some quiet time will make you feel refreshed and productive.

It's absurd to expect to be enthusiastic all of the time and eager to get things done. You need to take care of yourself, and if that means setting aside time to unplug or disconnect from the pressures of your job, go ahead and do it. It's likely to motivate you to work harder and smarter during the hours you do set aside for work.

6. Celebrate wins

Begin to recognize all of the good you're doing. Don't overlook the minor details. You require more wins in your life. This will inspire you, encourage you, and help you see your own brilliance.

When you're continually looking for a long-term payout, you lose sight of each small win's importance. It's also difficult to keep focused and on top of things when there's no tangible reward in sight. So treat yourself to modest pleasures, and don't underestimate how satisfying it is to see small improvements.
